RIS was appointed to a case, Sexual Assault, and the man was currently incarcerated in the county jail, and had been so incarcerated for six-months awaiting trial.  During the investigation it was learned that the alleged injured party was seeking revenge against the man for his infidelity and reported a sexual assault as well as two different family violence assaults.  After interviewing  the reporting person, she changed her story and confessed to filing a false report.  The findings were reported to the attorney who in turn notified the district attorney’s office and the charges were quickly dismissed and the man was released from jail.
